The 1.2m x 1.2m Square Plastic Garden Tray provides a generous contained area for grouping pots, planters and propagation trays while helping to manage watering and irrigation run-off. Manufactured without drainage holes, it can be used as a large drip tray or for bottom watering suitable container-grown plants.
At 120cm x 120cm, this is the larger of the two square tray sizes in the range and provides approximately 1.44m² of usable tray area. The extra space is particularly useful for larger groups of pots or where a substantial contained watering area is required.
Suitable for greenhouses, nurseries, propagation areas and general horticultural use, the tray provides a straightforward way to keep multiple containers together while helping to prevent irrigation water spreading immediately across the surrounding growing surface.
The absence of drainage holes means the tray can retain water for bottom watering suitable container-grown plants. Pots with drainage holes can be positioned within the tray and allowed to absorb moisture from below through capillary action within the growing medium.
With its large 1.2m x 1.2m footprint, several containers can be watered within the same area. This can be useful when managing groups of plants where watering each individual pot separately would be less convenient.
Water levels should always be managed according to the crop, container and growing medium being used. Plants requiring freely drained root conditions should not be left standing in excess water for prolonged periods.
The tray can also be used simply to collect water draining from pots and planters. Instead of allowing excess irrigation water to spread directly across the surrounding surface, run-off is retained within the tray.
This is particularly useful beneath groups of plants that are regularly hand watered. The large square footprint creates a defined plant area and can reduce the need for numerous individual pot saucers.
At 1.2m long by 1.2m wide, this tray provides approximately 1.44 square metres of surface area. This gives around 44% more tray area than the 1m x 1m version, making it the better option where additional pot capacity or watering space is required.
Before ordering, allow sufficient space around the tray for access and plant maintenance. The number of pots that can be accommodated will depend on their individual dimensions and the spacing required between plants.
| Nurseries | Useful for grouping larger batches of container-grown plants within a defined watering area. |

| Greenhouses | Provides a substantial contained area for pots, planters and smaller trays. |
| Propagation | Can accommodate multiple smaller propagation pots or trays where controlled watering is required. |
| Bottom watering | No drainage holes allow water to be retained for suitable containers to absorb from below. |
| Run-off collection | Helps contain water draining from multiple pots during irrigation. |
