The Lumatek 30W UV Supplemental LED Bar is a dedicated UVA and UVB lighting module designed to supplement compatible Lumatek Zeus full-spectrum LED fixtures during the flowering stage.

Rather than replacing the main full-spectrum light source, the 30W UV Bar adds carefully targeted ultraviolet wavelengths to an existing Zeus lighting system. It combines UV-A from 315-400nm with UV-B from 280-315nm, while producing no UV-C radiation.

The unit has been specifically designed to mount directly onto Lumatek Zeus LED fixtures, creating a clean integrated lighting system without requiring a separate overhead fixture. An integrated 30W driver, passive thermal management and IP65 construction make it a purpose-built professional lighting accessory.

Multiple UV bars can also be connected in series using the separately available Lumatek UV Bar Daisy Chain Cable, with support for up to 30 units in a daisy chain.

Targeted UVA & UVB supplementation

Conventional full-spectrum horticultural LEDs concentrate primarily on photosynthetically active radiation. The Lumatek UV Bar extends the lighting programme beyond this conventional spectrum by introducing ultraviolet wavelengths.

The fixture produces UV-A between 315 and 400nm and UV-B between 280 and 315nm. Lumatek specifies output of approximately 12,000mW UVA and 100mW UVB.

Importantly, the fixture is designed specifically for UVA and UVB supplementation and does not produce UV-C radiation.

Designed for strategic flowering-stage use

Lumatek developed the 30W UV Supplemental LED Bar to augment its Zeus full-spectrum lighting systems during flowering rather than to operate as the primary crop light.

Ultraviolet light should therefore be regarded as a controlled supplementary treatment. Exposure duration, distance and crop response all matter, and more UV is not automatically better.

Growers introducing UV supplementation should follow Lumatek's current application recommendations rather than simply operating the bars for the entire main lighting photoperiod.

Designed for Lumatek Zeus LED fixtures

The 30W UV Bar has been designed to fit directly into compatible Lumatek Zeus fixtures. Lumatek recommends using multiple bars to achieve appropriate distribution across the footprint of its larger full-spectrum LEDs.

The manufacturer's recommended arrangement includes a minimum of two 30W UV bars with compatible Zeus fixtures covering larger production areas. The exact number required depends on the Zeus model and installation.

This modular design allows an existing Zeus lighting installation to be upgraded with targeted UV output without replacing the main full-spectrum fixture.

Daisy-chain multiple UV bars

Each UV bar incorporates an input and output connection so multiple units can be linked together in series.

Lumatek specifies daisy-chain capability for up to 30 UV bars. This is particularly useful in larger commercial installations where numerous supplementary fixtures need to be powered in an organised arrangement.

The required 4m power cable and 1.5m UV Bar Daisy Chain Cable are sold separately. This allows the installation to be configured according to the number and position of bars required.

Integrated driver & passive cooling

The Lumatek UV Bar contains its own integrated 30W, 220-240V AC driver, helping keep the installation compact and straightforward.

Heat is managed through a passive heatsink rather than a cooling fan. This removes moving cooling components and allows the bar to operate silently.

Airflow around the fixture should not be restricted. Lumatek warns that excessive heat build-up can significantly reduce the service life of the UV LEDs.

Important UV safety information

This product emits ultraviolet radiation. UVA and particularly UVB require different handling considerations from conventional visible horticultural lighting.

Avoid unnecessary exposure of skin and eyes to operating UV fixtures and follow all safety instructions supplied by Lumatek. The bars should be switched off before carrying out work that would place people directly beneath or close to the UV source.

Do not look directly at operating UV LEDs. Do not connect or disconnect the fixture while it is under electrical load, and allow adequate airflow around the bar during operation.

The IP65 rating does not mean the product is intended for outdoor use or immersion. Lumatek specifies the fixture for appropriate climate-controlled indoor environments.
