Nemasys F (Steinernema feltiae) – Natural Control for Sciarid Fly, Thrips & Soil-Borne Pests

If you’re battling fungus gnats (sciarid fly), thrips in the compost, or hard-to-reach soil-dwelling pests like vine weevil and caterpillar larvae, Nemasys F offers a practical and biological way to stop the damage before it starts. It’s a live nematode treatment that goes to work below the surface – out of sight, but right where the pests are.

It’s not your average pest control. These microscopic worms get into the soil and start hunting – zero noise, no residue. They go straight for larvae hiding in compost, knocking them out before they have a chance to cause damage up top.

Water them in or drench by hand, and they’ll make their way into the root zone. Once there, they track down pest larvae like they’ve got a nose for it – then work from the inside out. They're especially handy in spots where sprays can't reach: think plug trays, propagation units, containers, or anywhere larvae dig deep.

They’ve even been shown to help manage leaf miner outbreaks and surface-feeding caterpillars, giving you a bit of added insurance – all without touching a spray nozzle.

Most useful in:

• Young plants or plug systems where sciarid fly larvae are chewing at roots
• Thrips populations developing below the surface
• Ornamentals or soft fruit where vine weevils are a recurring pain
• Crops grown in peat-free or coir composts that hold moisture well

Application guidance:

Use 500 ml per square metre. Damp compost helps – so water first if things are looking dry. Avoid high sun at application time, and give a light watering afterward to help the nematodes move into place. They work best when temps stay above 10°C for a good stretch.
