NEMAcontrol F 250M Tray (Steinernema feltiae) – Nematode Gel for Soil-Dwelling Pests

If pest larvae are chewing away at your crop before it even gets going, this is a smart way to push back. NEMAcontrol F contains Steinernema feltiae, a species of beneficial nematodes known for targeting sciarid fly, vine weevil, thrips pupae, leaf miners, and a few caterpillars – especially the ones lurking in compost or potting mix.

It’s a go-to option for propagation areas, plug production, and anything grown in containers or bags – places where sprays often miss the mark or can cause more harm than good. The gel dissolves easily in water and can be applied by drench or irrigation – no complicated prep needed.

Once they hit the compost, the nematodes spread out naturally. They don’t mess about: they seek out larvae and shut them down from the inside. You won’t see any spray marks or smell anything odd – just steady pest control, right at root level.

There’s nothing to rinse off, no long wait before you can re-enter, and no clash with other crop treatments. They simply get on with it.

Where it works best:

• Plug plants and propagation blocks under sciarid or thrips pressure
• Coir or peat-free substrates that stay moist
• Edibles or ornamentals where vine weevil or leaf miner larvae are an issue
• Growers cutting back on insecticides but still needing control

How to apply:

Use roughly 500 ml per square metre. It’s worth checking compost moisture beforehand – nematodes travel better when things aren’t bone dry. First thing in the morning or later in the day tends to work best. After applying, give the surface a light pass with the hose or lance. That’ll help move the nematodes into the zone where larvae tend to hang out.
