DIGLYcontrol (Diglyphus isaea) – Fast-Acting Leaf Miner Control for Protected Crops

Leaf miners can wreak havoc on young plants – cutting through leaf tissue, reducing growth, and leaving unsightly trails that knock saleability and performance. DIGLYcontrol offers a precise, natural way to shut them down early, without relying on chemical sprays.

Inside each bottle is Diglyphus isaea, a tiny parasitic wasp that moves fast. Unlike other species that lay inside the larvae, Diglyphus paralyses the leaf miner and lays its egg beside it. The developing wasp larva then feeds externally – finishing the pest off in the process. It’s a quick, effective route to control, and one that slots easily into any biological programme.

Once released, these wasps immediately search for activity in the leaf. They work best when leaf miners are already present in low numbers – making them ideal for curative use or where outbreaks are spotted early.

Some growers alternate or combine Diglyphus with Dacnusa sibirica for more layered control – especially where multiple miner species are present.

Best for use in:

• Ornamentals and greenhouse crops suffering from active leaf miner infestations
• Systems where visible leaf damage affects salability or market access

• Use alongside yellow sticky traps to monitor presence and reduce adults

How to apply:

Use at a guide rate of 0.5 wasps per square metre. Apply during active leaf miner presence, ideally in warm, still conditions. Avoid applying broad-spectrum pesticides before or after release.
